Went to Autozone and picked up and ATR fuse tap. Snaps in perfectly. Should be good to go now.
I was hoping to find a couple unused slots, but they are all occupied. Also noticed when checking with the continuity tester that a lot of them are hot on either side of the fuse with ignition off.
Thank you everyone for contributing. It is much appreciated.
EDIT: I found one 15A fuse that was hot only on accessory, so I used that one. The fuse tap would only go fit in one direction because the bottom frame of the fuse box was close to the 15A fuse.
As far as placing the fuse in the proper orientation, if you will note the way the numbers on the fuse you pull is oriented, upside down or right side up, just replace it the same way along with the added fuse.
So I now have a small issue. This is the harness I created using a cigarette style port. It will power a 2 port usb charger, but the not 4 port usb charger shown below. The 4 port powers up when inserted in the dash. So I am confused why it won't work. Fit should not be an issue, but it might be. I just don't know. Any ideas?
It seems like it would have to be fit, as the other accessory working implies that you do have +12V in the socket.
Question, though: why wire in a bulky socket just to put a USB charger in it, rather than just wiring in the charger directly? (you should be able to pull the charger apart, find the +12V and ground leads, and wire them to your add-a-fuse and ground points).

I agree it does add some bulk, but that much so I tried going the easy route first. I may have to disassemble the charger, though it doesn't look like an easy process. May have to crush it in a vice.
BTW the socket is not the same manufacturer as the charger and that might be a fit issue.
I figured out the issue. The taper on the 4 wide usb does not allow the charger to reach the positive connection in the socket. It is about a 1/4" short. You would think that all sockets would have a standard depth. This socket is 1/4" longer that what is installed in the truck.
So I took 1/4" off the socket with a dremel cutting wheel. Haven't tested it yet, but it should work
