Default Fuel shutoff problem

Recently I've experiences a string of fuel fill-ups at different stations in which the nozzle handle would not lock without clicking off within a few seconds, requiring me to hold the nozzle at a lower volume to fill the tank (pretty annoying with a 36-gallon tank). At first I thought it must be a pump problem, but after several times in a row lately it seems like it must be caused by an issue in the gas tank filler assembly. Has anyone else experienced and fixed such a problem? I don't recall seeing any posts about it.

Problem is likely with the EVAP system not venting the tank adequately during the fill process. Check your vent lines from the tank and vapor canister for kinks or plugging. If you have FORScan or other diagnostic scan tool, perform a scan for DTCs. It likely will only get worse.

Thanks, I missed this thread and it didn't pop up in my search. Sounds like same problem.

Looking at the illistration of the canister with the vent solenoid attached. Just to the left of the solenoid is a 90 degree hose attachment nipple. I'm going to assume that is the vent outlet. Is that correct?

Fuel fill nozzles use the venturi process to activate shut-off. They need atmosphere to be able to flow into a port at the end of the nozzle to remain open. If your EVAP vent tube becomes blocked (pinched, filled with mud), or the purge valve fails in the closed position, atmosphere cannot flow into your fuel system and through the fuel nozzle, so it shuts off.
