Fuel Filter
Is it true the '18 5.0 engine has NO fuel filtration past the fuel pump pickup sock? I'm just assuming it has a bag filter on the fuel pump?

"a lifetime in tank fuel filter serviced as part of the fuel pump"

That's what I was afraid of. I'm just short of 12k miles and looks like I need to clean the fuel system again. Are others finding this true with the 5.0? I use 93 octane Top Tier fuel all the time.

Probably need to check your fuel supply

I exclusively use QT here in Newnan, its the highest volume station in the county. QT has had ZERO complaints regarding fuel quality in GA ever apparently. Neither has Racetrack. Reported by WSB TV news a couple monyths ago.
I ran a can of BK44 through it at about 6k miles. The engine had not run right since I bought it. Suspected it had water in the tank from sitting on the dealer lot 3 mos in the winter before I bought it. The BK and a subsequent spark plug change a couple tanks later cleared it up.

So you never actually dropped and cleaned the fuel tank

I use 93 octane Top Tier fuel all the time.
Then that suggests that the 93 octane gas is older than the Regular.
How much older would be a guesstimate. I would shmooze the people working there to see how often they order 93 octane compared to Regular.

Typically 93 octane accounts for less than 10% of all fuel sales at a retail fuel station.

Nope. The engine ran smooth until about a month ago then a occasional slightly bumpy idle started. Now it has that and throttle tip in is noticeably not smooth. I reported the poor running to the dealer immediately after purchase but they said the engine was running normal(no MIL illuminated, so no problem). I did finally get a MIL that turned out to be bad EVAP purge valve which they replaced.

Considering that 93 octane is the most expensive gas at that station, logic suggests that they don't sell as much of it as Regular gas.
