Default Front end vibration

I have a 2018 F150. Had new tires put on in January and immediately had a low pitched noise coming from the front end and vibration in the floor boards and gas pedal. Doesn't seem like the typical shake you get with unbalanced tires. Rotated the tires and no change. Goes away if I swerve to the left, doesn't go ahead if I serve to the right. Best way I can describe it is the vibration you get when you leave the truck in 4wheel drive.

Figured it was a wheel bearing going bad even though it seems tight. Just replaced the driver hub and still have the issue. Wondering if it is an IWE issue? Hub engages and disengages when the truck is turned on and off.

Tires are falcon wildpeak AT4. Shop had a hard time balancing them so they put tire beads in. Maybe that is the issue?

Sounds like bad tires to me. I would have never accepted that. I had some Firestones on previous vehicle, took 9 tires to get 4 good ones. I'd ask the shop manager to re-evaluate the situation, road force balance them.

Wouldn’t you think something would have changed with a tire rotation if it was a tire issue? Vibration shifted to the rear or would have gotten better or worse. I find it hard to believe all 4 tires are equally bad.

If it’s not speed dependant, you might want to do the other front bearing hub assembly as well. i had an intermittent vibration that sounds similar to yours with my snow tires over the past few months. It was not speed dependant and would just come and go, although more prominent when it was cold out. I just got AT4s as well and for some reason (heavier tires? Coincidence?) it went from intermittent to constant right away. Couldn’t identify a specific side so replaced both wheel bearings and it’s smooth now up to about 70mph where I get a slight shake that I think is more like an unbalanced tire. Will be taking them back to get rebalanced but the vibration from before is now gone. I thought I read on here somewhere that it’s often the bearing on the opposite side of where you feel it that is bad. Easy enough to change it out so could be your fix.

Also, You didn’t mention if it goes away when you switch into 4wd while driving. If it does you like have at least one bad IWE or you need to replace the vacuum valve.

That being said, if it only started with the new tires and gets worse with speed or only happens at specific speeds, I would be asking for a new tire(s) if they couldn’t actually be balanced. Not familiar with tire beads but sounds like they just gave up and went to plan B.

i hope you figure it out. Good luck. Keep us updated.

Not if you had a bad one up front and in rear. Like I said, Firestone went through 9 tires with me, (I'll never buy another Firestone because of it) grr To double check if IWE causing grief, simply unplug solenoid by the brake booster. Perfectly fine, it will leave them engaged. Wheel bearings, I must say, I always thought if goes away turning left, it's likely the right side bad, etc. My money is still on tires, it started that day! Good luck, frustrating I'm sure.

Not speed dependent. Stays pretty much the same. Only time it goes away is turning left. Turning right has no change. Another thing that seems like it’s not the tires.

IWE’s seem to be working. With the truck off when spinning a tire the shafts spin. With the
truck running the shafts don’t spin.

I have another hub. Guess I’ll change the passenger side and hope that fixes it.

Changed the other hub out today. That was the problem. Must be something with putting new heavier tires on that amplifies a wheel bearing that is going out.

I remember the days of retreads. If the tech needed over 16 ounces of weights he sent the tire back.
