This too is wrong.... if you were in this position, and honestly felt it had nothing to do with the lift, then why would you try to hide the modification?

the lift might not have been the problem... perhaps it was in the install (again, things happen). However, that does not change the fact that something failed, likely due to work not directed by Ford or as a result of a failure covered by Ford.... therefore, i would be very surprised if they covered it.

this is what s wrong with the world these days. honesty is a thing of the past and (almost)everyone is looking for a freakin hand out!

To maintain the integrity of the OP, i am done with my point. Im sure you can agree that every time someone hides something like this and manages to get it covered by Ford, you know full well that has an affect on the prices we all pay to own these trucks.

I'm not saying lie to the dealer if they asked about it. That's why I called it a test of one's integrity. It's not fact that the level caused the issue. Very easily could have had an issue beforehand and the level could've worsened it. The dealer would certainly blame the level, No questions asked. If it were mine, I would just fix it myself rather than go through all that labor with the chance of it getting black listed for good.

I respect that opinion even though I dont agree with it. As I am sure that we can all attest to, Ford will look for any reason to unqualify a vehicle for a warranty claim whether it caused to problem or not. Believe you me, Ford has no such conscience as you. In my opinion, trying to take the moral high ground with this will rarely if ever go in your favor. Ford cleared over 7.3 billion dollars in 2017, i wouldnt lose any sleep over over putting it back to stock and taking it in.

I’m leaving the suspension on my new truck factory stock. It might look cool to raise it, but Ford spends a lot of time and money engineering its trucks for the overall best service. A truck that is lower in the front more than likely handles better and gets better fuel mileage. It also tends to sit level when a heavy load is placed in the bed or on the hitch. I raised my previous truck, a ‘16 F150 4x4, and had alignment issues from then on out. I like to haul stuff and tow, neither of which is very compatible with a lifted truck. I guess I won’t be able to cruise around town and impress everybody with my factory height ‘18.

I respect your opinion to keep your truck stock for whatever reason, but if you had alignment problems on your 2016, then either there was something wrong with your truck, or your alignment shop. No reason not to get a proper alignment with any level or lift. You can even use cam bolts if needed.

I know now you didn’t say it, but whenever someone has a problem, could be 1 in 1000, there’s always a guy that says “see, this is why you shouldn’t do this, bla, bla, bla” But c’mon, stuff fails all the time due to poor manufacturing, improper installs, etc. to just say “I blame this on that” is incorrect. People need to base conclusions on facts, not assumptions.

Thanks for all the responses guys! I’m going to avoid the dealer...not worth the headache or money lol. I’m going to keep the level on as well....like some said it might not truly be the sole reason. Think I’m going to fix the boot myself with a new one and go from there.... found this video. Looks pretty simple in this one...
