Default Front End Grinding/Vibrating

Hey Guys. New here. I just bought a 2020 F150 3.5 eco boost XLT about a month ago. Bought it used with 110xxx KMS on it. After about a week of driving it, I noticed a noise coming from the front end.(sounded like a plastic or metal shroud grinding on a moving axle or CV shaft) shortly after, I noticed that it started vibrating even when driving straight 60-80+ KMS an hour. It ONLY does this in 4wd. Not 2wd. Also makes the noise in 4Lo. The truck has a 4” lift installed at the dealership for the previous owner, But it doesn’t look like they changed/upgraded the CV axle shafts.

I’ve tested the IWEs with vacuum and they hold 15 lbs of vacuum, as well as all the lines. The 4wd solenoid also works.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what it might be? I’m not afraid to do the work myself.

Thanks in advance.

My 2017 does the same in 4wd. When in 4wd it makes a little more noise and has a slight vibration. I bought the truck with 29k on it and it now has 65k. Most every truck I've had does the same thing.

Does 4wd still work fine? Mine still works but I don’t wanna continue using it and do a bunch of damage to the front end.

I did not. I don't believe it's bad enough to start replacing parts yet. It just sounds and feels a little different in 4wd.

Did you hear or feel anything in 2wd? I would think that a bad wheel bearing hub would have noise and or vibration all the time not just in 4wd.

It was all the time. If you're having issues in 4wd only it's most likely IWE or you have issues with front dif.

A lot of threads on here with front dif issues on higher end models like lariat that have 4A mode. I guess front differential pinion bearing is a common part that goes out on these trucks. That's what I though was my issue but luckely for me it was only a bad wheel hub.

I’m only having the issue in 4wd and I don’t have the 4A option on my truck as it’s only an XLT
