Default Front Brake Replacement Time

I have 44K on my 2015 and I noticed a grinding/whirring noise when hitting the brakes in the past few weeks. I figured the pads were done so I ordered the Stoptech rotor and street pad kit. Came with free shipping and everything looked nice and beefy. The install is pretty straight forward but a truck driven in the salt with 44K on miles it required a huge amount of beating with a hammer to get the rotors off, they were rusted pretty good to the front hubs. The pads were still in pretty good shape but the clips they slide in were full of garbage causing one to wear uneven. I greased everything up and put it back together with anti-seize on the hubs. Hopefully this prevents the hammer beatings at 100K when it needs front brakes again.

Also, a nice touch on the stoptech rotors is the threaded holes for future replacement. If the rotors are stuck, you can insert two bolts that go through the rotor and "press" it off against the hub. No more hammer time needed.

I am 54k and mine look like new.... still about 3/8" of pad left inside and out. front and rear both.
I do alot of stop and go driving as well. I guess no salt on the roads in texas make some difference in wear.

You put your caliper back on the wrong side. How'd you get the bolts in?

I only got exactly 44k out of my brakes/rotors as well. Could not turn them down they were so gouged.

I'm in Houston so lots of instant stop and go, pulling boat and bigger tires didn't help but was surprised I couldn't get at least one turn down on the rotors.
