front brake hum when cold?
I installed new brakes last year on my 2016 f150 4x4 lariat . when it is cold outside I get a hum from the front tires , sometimes 1 tire on the drivers side and sometimes 1 tire on the passenger side . when the truck warms up after 10 -20 miles it seems to go away. I had the iwes replace 2 years ago and the noise is not effected by 4wd auto , 4 w high or 4 w low or stepping on the brake peddle . the dealer said it is because I did not use the Motor craft brakes that are angled in the front and rear. I went with Wagner first and I tried Raybestos pads and still the same noise when cold outside like below 30 degrees. I did not look into it as it was late winter last year. so should I invest in the Motor craft pads or is there some other problem I need to address . thanks
What type of lube did you use? Maybe in the cold weather you are getting light drag causing it. I would double check all the work.
I do know the motorcraft brake pad kits come with new hardware and fit is OEM. Not all aftermarket direct fit are equal to motorcraft.
