Default Frame Rust?

Hi All,

I purchased this 2018 f150 yesterday with 100k miles. I noticed that above the wheels and on the frame I think there appears to be rust? Is this something I should be concerned about? I plan on towing with this truck at least once a month so not sure if that should be taken into consideration or not. I have 30 days to return the truck if I do not like it. Appreciate any and all feedback.

Nothing to worry about from what I can see on the pictures. You could put some POR-15 on those spots to help stop it from spreading and it will return it to a nice black color.

Fluid film is used by others on this forum to help stop/slow the rust as well.

Thanks for the feedback, I will definitely look into that! I also noticed this truck does not have rear wheel well liners. Would that help prevent any further rust spots or is that just cosmetic?

That's a far cry from being even remotely concerning yet. Paint it black and forget about it.

That's just a tiny bit of surface rust. No big deal.

Appreciate the feedback. Do I need to do anything for it or just leave it alone? Not worried about cosmetic as long as it functions.

You can wire brush spots and paint over with black Rustoleum.
