Gents,

I have the HD payload package with 8' box.

Our cabin is down a single tracked but graveled road. There's an curvy, uphill section with a crap ton of washboards. The rear of my truck bounces like a basketball when I go through it even at low speeds.

How will these shocks help/hurt the ride quality given my stiffer springs? Any adverse performance with a full load?

Danka!

I don't drive on roads anything like that. It does appear to be a stiffer shock. If you are loaded it should ride more controlled than stock. Esp if you have 50k mi on the OEM's.

Personally I would want a longer shock.
But the stock truck has 1.5" blocks in the back and adding 3" blocks really only gives you 1.5" of lift

The shock can only travel (extend or compress) so far. The Fox replacements are meant for replacing the stock shocks. I measured both the OEM and Fox and they are the same length extended. If you lift the truck by moving the axle down one inch, then the shocks also move toward the extended position by one inch.
You have moved the center point of travel downward one inch. So you have one less inch of down travel. I think the F150 rear suspension has about 9" of travel. So if it is up 4.5" and down 4.5" and you lift your rear 1" then you have 5.5"up and 3.5" down.
When you go over a large bump or 'WAHOO' and the axle drops it will stop abruptly at 3.5" drop. After that it is airborne and you have no traction.

The box the shock came in does say 0-1" of lift. So the Mfr thinks it is OK.

If so what size rear block are you running and can I see a size profile of your truck?

So yesterday I received my rear shocks and guards. Installed them when I got home. Even when you jack up the truck, you still need to compress about almost 2 inches to get them in. Problem is I had hernia surgery last year and was concerned about using that much force. I tried to be as smart as possible to push these in and was done in an hour.

There is definitely less bounce in the rear now but the ride is a little stiffer. I'm curious how better the ride will be on the way home where I experience the most bounce on some of these highways under construction. I imagine they get a tad softer with use which is good enough for me. Amazing how easy it is to compress the oem shocks. I bought the truck new in June and have put 10k miles on it.

I took a pic of the guards. Did I install these correctly? I think they can only go on one way.

Where did you order them from? Auto Anything pushed back my shipping date, again, until Dec 23rd. I originally ordered them a month ago.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that. I got them from amazon. I know there's no discount but at least I have them already. I believe this was the last pair they had.

This other seller has them
