Changed my cabin filter for the first time today. Not a pleasant job and pulling that piece off right in front was stressful it's on so tight. When I looked at the filter cover it was just hanging in front with some painters tape on it.
Put the new filter in and put the cover on. Stays on but its just a friction fit. I see there's provisions for a couple of screws on the sides. Anyone have trouble with the cover falling off?
I just looked at a picture of a cover. Both my tabs are broken off. Hmm.
I've owned four different Fords over the past several years, between work and pleasure and I've broken off a few tabs along the way. Feels like there should be a better, more easily accessible way to get to that filter. Getting to the housing itself is easy enough, but those tabs can be trouble. For a few of the vehicles, the covers pop right off and on others they don't.
