Default Forward collision warning - where is the sensor ?

Hello group,

I got this message from the truck this morning ( see attached).

I think it can be related to the rustproofing job recently done. Anyone already got this message? Where is this sensor located?

My truck is a 2019 Lariat with pre-collision system, but no lane or cruise assistance. Does the truck use this sensor for lane/cruise assist AND pre-collision??

Thanks.

Anyone doing rustproofing should know where not to spray. Many would argue that it's simply wasted money.

pre collision radar sensor is behind the front bumper. lane keep is a camera mounted to the rear view mirror

Ok, is this sensor reachable without dismantling the front?

here is the thing if you go messing with it, it has to be re-calibrated

Sensor is right behind the black plastic cap on the bumoer, driver side. It is removable from the front without removing the bumper. If you chose to remove it, try to avoid turning the top stud, as it levels the sensor. If you happen to turn it, it can easily be set back to level by placing a level across the face of the sensor. Calibration of the sensor is surprisingly not critical. It is very rare that you would ever need to run the IDS calibration procedure unless you actually replace the sensor. I have seen people relocate the sensor to the grill for an aftermarket bumper without any need for re-calibration. I swapped my sensor from my 17 front end to my 18 front end conversion. I had to fabricate a bracket and modify the bumper, as the sensors are a different size. Even after all of that, there was no need to run the calibration procedure and cruise works perfect.

I think the pre collision without adaptive cruise on a '19 is entirely done visually with the high mounted camera near the rear view mirror. No radar module near the license plate, that is for adaptive cruise.

Great info: it means the warning was due to camera obstruction.

thanks

Yes it is due to the camera being obstructed I get it on mine if the window is covered in snow.

Default Forward Collision Warning-Where is the Sensor?

I have one question. Why would an aluminum bodied vehicle need to be rust proofed?
