Default Forscan A Post from CaperJ

If you have not yet reviewed the Forscan website, it is based in Russia and they have suspended extended licenses due to the Russian war crimes and atrocities against the people of the Ukraine. I urge all of you to return your trucks to stock and stop your reliance on Russian companies and products until Russia stops the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Nothing personal to the Forscan company, but we must not ignore the state Russia has put the world in. We do not know at this point if it will be ever allowed again, leaving you stuck with changes you cannot revert. Let us pray this ends in a way the world can recover from.

Every move to deny Russia is a move in the right direction, it's only a mod, not a Ukrainian life.

Thanks for bringing this up. I’m curious to see the responses on this one. I haven’t used Forscan yet but getting prepared. Not sure I’m comfortable with it however. We’ll see.

I use forscan mostly for MX work - diagnostics and the like. and it's very handy for for the DIY owner - since it's cheap to get into and reads EVERYTHING. BMS reset - brake flush setup, other MX features.

while I agree russia needs to be stopped and I'd go so far as to what a governmental cleaning but that's a longer rant for another day. It's a shame it is affecting people like those that support Forscan. Which there was a US based version of this.

Forscan is developed and maintained by an individual who just happens to be Russian - it's not supported or endorsed by the Russian government. I agree with your sentiments regarding the war crimes and atrocities committed against Ukraine, but I think your boycott of Forscan is silly.

Also, you can still generate the trial license so there's no reason to worry (at this point) about being able to use it for future changes.

I don't think punishing individuals who just so happen to live in Russia is reasonable or accomplishes anything

Anybody that made any FORSCAN changes should have stored an As Built program copy to be able to return the program to factory build.

Exactly this. Putin is the problem, not the Russian people. I feel pretty sure that the Russian government does not get any benefit from forscan...

Sure. I'm going to disable my Forscan enabled factory trailer brake controller, then go to a dealer and pay $150 to have it reenabled. NOT. Putin isn't Forscan.

the free 3 month license or whatever it is they are still issuing - pretty sure that's automated anyway. You just can't purchase the extended license that doesn't requiring renewing every 3 months and gives access to some things like PATs I do believe.

You can still do the usual screwing around everyone uses it for
