Default Forscan

Can't get Forscan to load on any of my computers. Antivirus sees it as malware. I used the link provided on here to go to the website to download it. Anyone else had this issue or is it just me? I know my laptop is old, Windows 8.1, but can not even download it on home computer.

I can’t find any system requirements, but I swear I’ve read somewhere that you need to be on windows 10 or above.

You can try to turn your antivirus off while you install FORScan.

Yep, Tried turning off Antivirus during install. The install happened. But when I turned it back on after install and tried to open Forscan it says it is malicous software and deleted program. I am doing something wrong I am sure just can't figure it out yet.

Which anti virus? I ran ESET for years on my win 7 with no issues. Currently running win 10 with only the windows built in antivirus and no issues. I also run Malware bytes full time, no issues. You need to tell the AV to let it run. Its been around a long time and I have never seen anyone write about them having a security issue from Forscan. I can only recall one other person (sure there are more) that had an AV software not like Forscan.

If Forscan were malicious, we would know by now.

Running Webroot which has been very good for me and my family for years. I have been looking into it as far as trying to get Webroot to allow Forscan. I know that Forscan has been around for years and also since it has been on here for quit some time I can trust the link posted here as well. It has something to do with either my laptop running windows 8.1 or Webroot. Just have to figure it out. Thought I would check here to see if anyone had encountered the same issue and what the fix was before I start down a certain path.

So, when windows flags something as malicious, you usually get a popup telling you about it or, you can look at Windows Defender, find the thing it quarantined and allow the "threat"
once you've done that, youll need to reinstall it again
