Fordpass - Deep Sleep Mode

Totally agree. I left my truck at home for 3 weeks at Christmas and drove my Challenger and was able to get right in and go. The only difference is my truck can't tell me it will be out of touch for a few days. It's the same as telling a loved one, I'm headed out of cell coverage so don't worry if you can't reach me.

only thing in deep sleep is the 4g modem. You will still be able to use the key fob to unlock the door, or just grab the handle if you have proximity locks. Then get in and push the button. Remote access does the same thing, as long term modem usage will quickly drain the battery.

Walk up to it, open the door, push the button.
Open the door.
Yes.
Yes.
See above.
Owners manual covers multiple trims and years. Sync Connect is a late availability option.
Mountain out of a molehill here, Dave.
Stressing out over nothing. Ain't technology grand?
Not sure why. One tiny little hiccup and you have buyers remorse?

I was not stress, until I chatted with Fordpass via their app. Fordpass representative had no clue, never heard of it. I called Fordpass, hours the phone and they had no clue.
Leaves you a very bad feeling, when they know nothing about their app or product.
Called Ford Customer service twice. Several hours on the phone, they had no clue. I was told to call dealer and have it towed
Called dealer service in Houma LA, where truck is parked. Did not know what deep sleep was or what needed to be done.
So yea, a lot pissed and worried. Been at work 21 day offshore. Counting on a 5 week old truck to be ready to take me home to TN for a Holiday weekend. Have Children and grandchildren traveling from VA and FL to spend the week end with me on the lake. And Ford cant tell me anything about my truck. They suggest I have it towed. So yea, I'm pissed.
My salesman. from TN called him yesterday, and he didn't know either. I did get a text from him today telling me what you told me. It took him almost two full days to get an answer from Ford.
So, had Fordpass, Ford Customer service, or my owners manual known anything about this feature I would not have got upset or stressed.

I would have been calm if Fordpass could have told me what this was, or how to get it out of deep sleep. They said they never heard of it.

So yep, up set when the manufacture of your truck and app know nothing and suggest a two truck. Especially seeing I have been off shore for 21 days wanting to get home to see my family on a holiday week end.

I would have been calm, had this been in my owners manual. Talks all about 30 day storage or more, no word about this.

This is a good feature that protects your battery from dying if you let the truck sit for extended periods of time.

I have an XLT; it's almost what we used to call a stripper (no options. Thanks to 21st Century culture, however, a stripper means something else entirely!), so my truck has only Bluetooth, air conditioning and power windows and mirrors; very little of anything else, and I like it that way. Why? Because these additional features really work our starting batteries hard, that's why.
I would recommend that anyone who owns a newer, high-feature vehicle also purchase a modern, 3-step, microprocessor-controlled battery charger. Sears sells some made by Shumacher, and there are many other good brands of chargers.
Once a month hook that sucker up and top off your vehicle battery's SoC to 100%, especially if your routine driving involves daily short trips (not enough charge time from the engine alternator).
Battery, battery, battery! We live in an era where attention to our batteries' health is very important. That's all I got!
