It's basically a Deplhi Connect with the Ford Logo on it.

Connects to the OBDII port on your 2011+ Ford and can get system diagnostics, lock/unlock the car, remote starts it and has a WiFi hotspot for people in the car to connect to.

Sounds like something I don't need, then! Thanks for the response.

Are you serious? Did you talk to service? Did they guy look anything up in the system or did he just say "never heard of it!"?

Took matters into my own hands. Called Phil Long and spoke to the parts manager.

They have them in stock, but Ford hasn't approved it for launch yet.

He confirmed the 3 options (prepaid, monthly, and prepaid & monthly) but they said that the pricing wasn't finalized.

They had dealership staff that tested it and loved it.

(They initially were supposed to launch 12/4, but he thinks the hold up on final pricing delayed it.)

First I talked to parts...... he said "Never heard about the device" called service and they said "Sometime in the future, but don't know when" blind leading the blind.

One other thing I learned is that remote start through the device, on the F150, will only work if you have the factory remote start option. I know that was a question asked by a few that had aftermarket and dealer-installed remote start.

My guess is that as long as you have Remote start activated in the BCM and ICM, you should be good, since the system can't tell a difference.
Since the 2011+ can all have that activated, I don't see why the dealer could not just turn it on while installing the smartlink

Not sure. Just know that there are a handful of years and models that it is supported on, and the F150 wasn't one of them.
