Took matters into my own hands. Called Phil Long and spoke to the parts manager.
They have them in stock, but Ford hasn't approved it for launch yet.
He confirmed the 3 options (prepaid, monthly, and prepaid & monthly) but they said that the pricing wasn't finalized.
They had dealership staff that tested it and loved it.
(They initially were supposed to launch 12/4, but he thinks the hold up on final pricing delayed it.)

One other thing I learned is that remote start through the device, on the F150, will only work if you have the factory remote start option. I know that was a question asked by a few that had aftermarket and dealer-installed remote start.

Since the 2011+ can all have that activated, I don't see why the dealer could not just turn it on while installing the smartlink

My guess is that as long as you have Remote start activated in the BCM and ICM, you should be good, since the system can't tell a difference.
Since the 2011+ can all have that activated, I don't see why the dealer could not just turn it on while installing the smartlink
