Default Ford Pass Question

I know there are tons of threads about Ford Pass but honestly it all just confuses me. I have a 2015 XLT with remote start and MyFordTouch. I would like to get Ford Pass installed so i can start the truck through the app. When opening the app it just shows me information about the vehicle. Does anyone know what i need to get ad how i install the parts needed to add this?

you need to get smart link. Call your local friendly ford dealer

Yes, you need Smartlink, however, I am not sure if it works with MFT. I think you might need Sync 3.

Oh, and what you are missing is a cellular modem. The reason 17s, 18s and 19s can use FP right from the factory is because they had the Fordpass Connect (formerly SYNC connect) option, which is a cellular modem.

I'm afraid of hearing how much the dealership wants to install it haha.

If i need sync 3 i guess that will just be another reason to do it i keep looking into it and talking myself out of it because of the crazy high price.

I have contacted the local dealership before about it and they took about 10 minutes to come back to the phone and went we honestly don't know how Ford Pass works but that was my dad's 250 and was last year so maybe now they can help

Why not just trade yours in for a new truck?

I've used it about 3 times, only when I first got it. it is just too slow for me, I am not patient enough to wait!
Plus the remote start from the FOB works well enough, I am usually in range when I need to start it. Being in Texas where it aint freezing cold helps too I bet!

Yeah the app is amazing for far away starts. When we go to the mall or grocery shopping i will start the truck when i know im about 10 minutes from it and shes nice and warm by the time we get in. My old truck i had to wait til i got to the doors and then put the fob under my chin and hoped she started and even if it did start we would have to wait at the doors for it to warm up. First world problem i know hahaha
