Ford Dealership Scratched/Gouged Rim
I wanted to get some members thoughts on what a reasonable expectation would be on how they could fix/replace a rim that my local Ford dealership damaged while repairing a tire that had a nail in it. I picked up the truck tonight and looks like they repaired the tire but failed to mention they scratched the rim pretty good in 3 places in the picture and actually is a bit of a gouge out of the aluminum rim. I'm going to drop in to the dealership tomorrow ask what they propose to do about the rim. Wanted to get any thoughts you might have as to what I should expect. The rims were in perfect condition, no scuffs or scratches before today.
Thanks in advance.

Repair or replace. Seems obvious.

Reasonable expectation is to fix the damage through repair or replace. That's what I would imagine will happen. You just need to ask to speak to the shop foreman or service manager and calmly and respectfully explain the situation.

I had a tire shop damage my wheels on a Jeep I had. Scratched with a heavy gauge as well. They were able to call someone in and repair it. They did it no questions asked, so they knew they messed them up but didn't say anything to me until I brought it up.
They even went so far as to try and buff the scratches out before I picked it up. I first noticed them when washing it and all the water on the wheel wouldn't stick to that area due to whatever product they used. I don't use that place anymore.

I dropped by the dealer today and the service manager right away said "that's bad" and that the service tech should have told them to start with. They took pictures to send to a rim repair place to see what they can do and said they'd either repair it or replace it if it can't be repaired.
My only concern is will the paint hold up if it's repainted as well as the original. I'm in Canada where we have tones of road salt.

I had a tire shop do the same thing to a Honda Accord. They called the local dealership for the cost of a replacement wheel and wrote me a check for that amount right on the spot.
