No, when I first had it looked at it would work sometimes and then not at all. When they replaced the switch it quit working altogether and still does not work. It is supposed to go back in tomorrow.

Yes, last time I was in they broke the plastic wiper hood cowl and left the cover off of the fuse box on the inside panel.

Cars equipped with wipers and washer fluid are required to have them maintained in good working order. Not a learn to deal with it applicable feature.

In a lot of states, lemon law comes into play with three failed attempts to fix a drivability or safety feature, or over thirty days out of commission. Check your state laws as has been stated.

You will always do better with a buyback than lemon law. Lemon laws cost mfg's more than just taking back vehicles, so they prefer that route unless they are just being jackwagons and trying to make it as hard as possible to take back product. This typically costs them more, because people get really ornery about their vehicles not performing as described right out of the gate.

Tell them to give you a loaner pickup and not to bother giving it back to you until it's fully working. Silly they had you pick it up when they weren't done actually fixing the problem...

Dammit, 4 hours at the dealership this afternoon as they didn't have a loaner and it still isn't fixed. (the dealer is 30 mi. away)

They replaced the whole steering column assembly including the switch.
They traced the wire harness and said it was ok.
They re-flashed the BCM
They took a new wiper motor out of a new truck and tried it

They now want me to come back as they say the Ford techs are telling them to put in a new wiper motor even though they tried one from a new truck. I would think they could jump some pins to be able to tell if it was in the motor or not, again the wiper motor runs on high but not on intermittent and no spray wash. I will let them look at it again, but I am considering initiating a call to report the issue and inquire about buy back.

Tell them you'll bring it in when they have a loaner available.

Not exactly related to your issue, but getting repairs during this health crisis could become difficult. Some dealers and shops are probably going to be short handed or may be forced to close for a period. It might be best to let minor stuff wait until this thing subsides. In the meantime you might want to grab a bottle of Rain-X and apply it to the windshield. The stuff works great and eliminates the need for wipers at speeds above 25 mph or so.

1. Does Ford give "credit" or partial payments on warranty issues if they cannot fix them or is it buyback or replace or nothing? All or nothing. They MAY make payment(s) on a Ford Credit loan if you're without your vehicle for extended periods. Sometimes they also add an extended warranty.
2, How much of an issue does it have to be for them to consider or do a buyback or replacement? Way more than your issue.
3. The tech mentioned that he saw "rat tracks", but I never found what that meant. There are some maple tree seeds in the engine compartment, but no evidence of chewed wired or rat urine and I have had preventive measures in there form day one and never any such damage to vehicles any on my property. What is the burden of proof from Ford on a warranty claim, can they claim it is animal damage and leave me SOL? They have to find the problem, then place the blame, and then you have to fight it.
4. I live in AZ but purchased the vehicle in CO. All that matters is where you live.
5. Did anyone need to get an attorney involved for warranty issues? Anyone? Clearly someone has. Most, no.
6. Should I call customer care to start documenting my issue or disatisfation? No. Your dealer is trying to help.

Yeah, this seems like a minor thing, but it is a new truck that I have had less than three weeks and I expect everything to work and be correct, and I understand a lot of you will probably say to learn to live with it.
New vehicles have issues. Dealers fix issues.

I have applied Aquapel (sp?) to the windshield and it helpes keep it clean and clear.
I am working at home next week isolating by choice and I am done with trying to get this repaired for a while until I see where things are going around here and nationally.
