Default Flat tire

Went outside last night and noticed my rear driver tire completely flat with a ice nail in middle of tread line. Is the spare a full size? I have a 18 xlt with 18s

How can people buy a vehicle and not know how to drop their spare tire before they need to (and therefore know the size)?

Also, you have free roadside assistance. Ford will come and put your spare on for you for 5 years.

Hopefully you observed how to lower the tire and change it. Also make sure the tire hoist is off the ground. Remember so if you are in the middle of nowhere, without a cell signal and no AAA around the next tree, you can get yourself out of trouble. Consider it a teaching moment.

We all had to figure it out at some point.

And according to the service writer at my dealership, this is the reason why Ford can get by with the pitiful excuse of a lug wrench and crappy lugnuts that swell because 75% of owners call roadside assistance to change the tires if there is an issue. Those of us that do this stuff ourselves (and even keep a kit for quick tire fixes along the road) are the exception to the typical modern day F150 owner.
