Default Flashing check engine light

Yesterday morning my trucks check engine light started flashing upon start up. The engine was running extremely rough and shaking. It’s a 2015 with 44,000 miles and the 5.0 engine. Took it to the shop but won’t know anything until tomorrow. Pray for me I’m hoping it’s nothing serious.

Flashing check engine light indicates a misfire.

Whenever my 02 did that is was a bad ignition coil.

Then why are you concerned about what it is? Covered under warranty isn’t it?

There was zero indication leading up to it? Ran fine the day before and whammy.

My truck would do that as well, run perfect then all of a sudden start missing and vibrating.

Sometimes it needed a new coil, sometimes I just had to pull it and clean the boot and plug insulator and it would be fine again.

It is annoying but a simple fix if that is all it is.

An update to my situation. Turns out squirrels chewed through 3 of my fuel injector lines. A rather costly fix that was obviously not covered by my ESP. Purchased 2 ultrasonic sound emitters for my engine compartment and hoping it doesn’t happen again.
