Default First tow review (2.7 EB)

So hooked up with some buddies for a dirtbike ride yesterday. Buddies 08 Tundra was loosing oil from what looked like the main bearing so we decided to use my truck. So we hooked up his 14' enclosed trailer with tools, gear and 3 bikes and headed out.
Let me just say I am more than thrilled with how well this truck did. Had absolutely no issues pulling that trailer and load and even got 13 MPG averaging about 60mph. Oh and I had to go over a pretty big mountain pass to boot and even when going up the pass I could easily accelerate. I am just dumbfounded by this little motor. Now my buddy with the Tundra is thinking this is his next truck....
Good job FORD, you nailed it with this motor, well unless it starts having a lot of problems but so far so good... 15k miles.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also have the 2.7 and was blown away the first time I towed my enclosed snowmobile trailer. I couldn't believe how effortlessly it towed it compared to my previous Tundra with a 4.30 rear end. The table-top torque curve from the EB's just can't be beat. I completely agree that Ford has a winner with this engine providing there's no major issues. So far so good!

Why is the weight limit so low on the 2.7. They seem like they have the nutz to pull more.

I have a sneaky suspicion it's lower so they don't eat into the 3.5EB sales.
