Default First Tow.....

First tow with my new XLT. Total weight of 2 Sea-Doo's (full tanks of gas) and trailer is approximatley 2,500lbs. I have the 5.0 with 3.31 gearing and it performed flawlessly. I realize this is not a lot of weight but there are several 8 degree + hill climbs to my house and I have 35 inch tires. The tow/haul mode worked perfect. It upshifted and downshifted exactly when I expected it too. I have the Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust and the downshifts sound amazing. I'm anxious to see how it does with my 6,000lb boat later in the summer. So far very pleased! Happy 4th!

I sure as heck hope it did fine towing a couple jet skis. Lol. Not sure one needs tow/haul engaged for that weight but hey it won't hurt so why not.

My f150s have hailed my boat easily over the years. The last and current model seemed to manage the weight better than esrlier generations. I think you will be fine with a 6k lb boat.

Mind if I ask what kind of bike rack or hitch adapter you are using there? And have you used it for more than one bike, say 3, with any success? Looks good, thanks.

I have a similar bike rack, made by Hollywood. On mine the hitch passes through the rack. I had to find a slightly longer hitch but it works great.

I couldn't find the name of the rack but it is similar to the Hollywood rack. It slips over my standard hitch, did not get a longer hitch. Holds 3 bikes but most I have had on is 2. My concern with 3 is that the tailgate most likey will get scratched with 3 bikes on as it is very tight and close to the tailgate. I'm trying to find a rack for the bed that can accomodate my fat bike, no luck yet....
