Default First time without a 4WD - will I hate it?

We're looking at trading my '14 Tacoma TRD-OffRoad for a '17 F150 w/max tow for some extra capability to pull a camper. We previously had a Xterra Pro-4X and I bought my wife a Wrangler Rubicon in January.

I've only ever had sports cars and 4WD offroad-capable vehicles. The F150 we're looking at is 2WD. Am I going to hate it?

Eh, if you have any doubts about whether to buy a 2wd, you should get 4wd.

what reason do you think you need the 4wd? kind of the same question, but what situation do you think the 2wd will fail in? If you are pulling that thing offroad AT ALL, I would suggest 4wd.

4wd and low range make it easier backing into some spots that may be tight and soft.

How often did you put your 4wd trucks into 4wd? That will answer your question. I realized I didn't need 4wd for my current truck, because I never put my last 4wd Explorer into 4wd, even off road.

You probably know the answer or you wouldn't be asking. If you can afford it get it. If you can't you will learn to live without it.

The way I see it its like insurance, its something you have and dont use real often...lol..Mines 4wd and I dont think I ever own another 2wd even though I dont use it much but thats all Ive owned in the last 20yrs, like how many of us would go back to a regular cab after owning a supercrew. If someone never owned a 4wd they dont know what they are missing and they get by just fine and a 2wd will do a lot of things. To start with 4wd and never need is cheaper than buying a 2wd and making/trading to 4wd, so that needs to be considered to and trade-in later down the road if need be will be higher. My advice is think about is 3-? years you have the truck would you regret the choice made cuz hindsight is always 20/20. BTW....please once you make your decision then ask about 5.0 or EB........lol.....J/K.... Good luck on you decision.
