I would have the dealer change the oil before you drive the truck off the lot to get out "all the metal shavings" ... Oh wait, it's not 1969 and manufacturing processes have improved about a million percent as well as lubricant technology as well?! Whew, what a relief.

As has been covered in countless oil threads in this, other, and BITOG forums, change your oil at the recommended interval, get an analysis if desired, and use whatever brand you prefer.

My wife and I have had zero issues with our 5.0 engines. Her 11 GT with 100k miles of dealer oil changes with Motorcraft synth blend, and my 13 Boss with 2 cycles of Royal Purple. I will probably start using Amsoil in my Boss, and the new 5.0L 4x4 Lariat I hope to get next year.

It's still a brand new motor. So it's going to have crap floating in the oil after it breaks in

Your clueless. The engine is well broken in before its bolted into the frame and sitting on the car lot. Engines are "run in" and tested at the engine assembly plant.

Well said! Lol. People tend to over analyze, just use common sense and follow the manual, it's not rocket science...

This. Follow the ford guide and come time for a warranty issue you will be fine.

I still change mine every 3,000. It's cheap enough even with full synthetic to make sure it's clean.

Full Definition of CLUELESS
1: having or providing no clue <a clueless case for the police to solve>
2: completely or hopelessly bewildered, unaware, ignorant, or foolish <clueless about what they want>

Ask 100 people you get 100 different answers.

The correct answer would be "what ever makes you happy"
