Default First Electrical Gremlin

This past weekend I experienced my first electrical gremlin at 8966 miles. Two faults appeared on the cluster one after the other, blind spot monitor and cross traffic alert. I also noticed the running boards no longer deployed upon opening the door. I checked the settings and sure enough the running boards switched themselves off.......very strange! This has been happening since Saturday and usually occurs 5-10 minutes after starting the vehicle for the alerts to pop up and then the running boards to switch themselves off.

Not sure what the problem is and I'm not worried either. Will make an appointment tomorrow and report back with the findings.

Interested to hear what the cause is. Short causing an overload and it shuts down certain things for safety? The gremlin might actually be a gremlin chewing wires.

Hope it doesn't take them too long to diagnose and fix. Good luck.

What's strange is that for the first 5-10 minutes of driving, blind spot, cross traffic alert, and running boards work as usual.

Do you have a MyKey programmed? Do you have more than one key in the vehicle at the same time?

This makes sense or along with a bad pin in the electrical harness Connection. The bad pin would heat and cause the problem which would eventually not work at all and the wire harness in the cab is a monster running to all the up relays and other gizmo's connected to the body module. I believe the F150 uses at least 3 different body harnesses for the cab depending on the model.

I just called 3 Ford dealerships in my immediate area and 1 outside my immediate area to schedule service. They are all booked solid til September. Guess i won't be driving with my newborn in the car til fixed. Side note, I asked the 4th dealership why all the dealerships in the area were so busy and he said, "We sell a lot of Fords!" Hmmmm I had at least 2 responses swirling in my head but held my tongue
