Financing/Paperwork before receiving order
I'm in an odd situation. I have a great refi interest rate through a local credit union, but it expires on May 12th. My special order is supposedly 11 days from arrival (would put it here May 6th) according to COTUS, but it's still "awaiting shipment." Therefore I have my doubts as to it arriving on time.
Wondering - could I push my dealer to wrap up the financing/paperwork before the vehicle arrives? And is it possible to turn around and refi the very next day (or even same day) once the papers have been signed, or does it take several days to get processed into the system?

I will put my 2 pennies here for a scenario I had. Did the exact thing with wife's new Mazda. Did all paperwork while the vehicle was in transit. I am in Alabama, so check your local laws, but once I signed the paperwork the vehicle was mine. Well guess what happened when it arrived on the truck. It was damaged, hood, roof and trunk. To make a long story short, I had to take a brand new car that had to be repainted because of damage before I could even drive it off the lot. No reduction in price, nothing, because I had already bought it. Check your local laws, because my only recourse was arbitration, and would have ended up getting painted via arbitration should the dealership have refused.
So my order (placed on 02/27) that has long had an EDD of 05/02 has been pushed back to 05/08 and now 05/19. I have a great interest rate for a refi, but it expires 05/12. Can I push a dealer to do the financing and paperwork early on this? Is there any reason they'd refuse to do that?
I'd typically agree with the previous poster, but the refi option I have would really be ideal.

I'm assuming you have already shopped around to see if you can find a similar rate. One option is, you can do ford financing and just tell the finance person that you found a rate at this # and have them match it. My wife did that when she financed her honda. Found a rate one place, got approved, she did the honda financing to see what rate she could get. It was higher, so we told them we were going with other lender, they came back and beat the original rate. So you can call their bluff and say you have this rate, see if they can come close to it.
The rule don’t buy before you have truck if there are issues on truck you are owner. Like in housing they always say don’t pay and close prior to all fixes or job being done. The reason why is if there are issues you have little recourse and you will not have same priority as a new buyer. Crazy but proven anytime you try to get a refund, in NW we have Costco and Nordstrom who know how to do all the rest are painful. Might cost you but if truck has a ton of issues when you pick up it isn’t your truck until you take delivery, by signing before it is your truck!
with Ford if you have a Lemon you will how hard to get $$ back, extremely painful and slow. Buying is never easy to get fair deal but there are places that make it way better then most. Go to Lexus or other high end store you will see a totally different Customer Experience, your local Ford store very much hit or miss. Don’t sign away your right to save only later to find you own a truck you wouldn’t buy, many new Ford’s need work before a Customer will buy.
