Default Finally had a test drive

Getting closer

Had a test drive of loaded Lariat 2.7 screw yesterday. The interior is awesome. I have a MB GL450 (2007 model) and F150 outshines that MB and many other modern lux cars in all respects. I also tested out a new silverado and tacoma. They both feel like they are from Civil War era. Did someone inform GM that wheels are round and square fenders look plain stupid ? If anyone claims that those are better rides in terms of driveablity or interior finish/features, is an outright liar or a brand loyal person (don't blame them)

I am so hooked with this truck !!. My 1st truck ever (when I get it in August), drives no different than my GL. Steering so smooth and quick. I can see that I may have some issue with parking. I am a very patient person and would walk extra 5 minutes to keep it scratch free. Will start practicing parking in back first .

Little 2.7 was quite peppy. Another funny thing I notice was people moving out of lane when they see a truck behind them. Damn I have been on receiving end for so long ..

The box on frame F150 drives like a unibody GL450 and the Lariat trim is comparable to MB trim? Lol. I like my 2.7 Screw Lariat (501a) - but that made me laugh

Default It actually does

My MB is 2007 model. Has leatherette seats and all the nice things inside but in my opinion, Lariat interior was not any less. I have not seen new MBs since my desire to own those has faded away. There is so much you spend on them for so little. A Screw lariat with all goodies can be had for < 50K . What is it that you felt inferior to an MB ?

To be fair - you can't compare a 6yr old Mercedes to a brand new truck.
IMHO the Mercedes will feature higher quality leather , real wood trim etc

agree on that. Is the impulse feeling of sitting in a brand new truck after so many years. However , sitting in a Tacoma or Silverado had no wow factor.

Silverado / Sierra has poor handling compared to the F150. They steer heavy and feel heavy ...

exactly, also I think the GM interior has some nicer features than my new ford. For one, my slt sierra had brushed metal trim, where my comparable lariat has plastic. You have to go up to a platinum to get similar trim pieces.

Also your GL450 must have had a really bouncy rear end if an f150 drives the same.

Yup - unibody SUV vs Truck - night and day difference in ride quality. That being said - I strongly prefer my F150 but the rear axle is not designed for ride quality and more durability and off-roading

I was referring to on road. My truck was so bouncy with the stock shocks. Don't get me wrong my truck drives great, just not suv great.
