Default Finally, CHIME FREE

Yes, I was the one ranting about those ridiculous seatbelt chimes. I swear I was about to have a brain aneurism over it, but someone saved me by posting a pic of a seatbelt adapter off EBay that was only $4. Well, after 2 mo of waiting it finally arrived and it F'n works. No more putting my key into the ignition and hearing those damn idiot chimes again, NEVER AGAIN. And for $4 it actually came with 2 of them so I have a back up. Anyways, whoever posted that pic and suggestion (can't remember if it was on here or the ECO forum), but THANK YOU, you saved my sanity.

Just don't know that I would want to put my life in the hands of a $2 piece of Chinese garbage. Just my .02....

What I found to eliminate the chimes every time is to buckle my seatbelt. That way, if I do get in a wreck I'll be better off than having a dummy buckle fooling the ECU and airbags deploying without being secured thereby increasing injury further.

yea, because wanting to start the truck BEFORE buckling the seat belt is absolutely ludicrous. How dare anyone want to crank the truck, get situated, adjust the radio, drink his coffee, or do anything without the seat belt chime going off constantly.

He literally said in the other thread THAT YOU POSTED ON MORE THAN ONCE....

Oh well, the getting an extra buckle is a good idea, but I actually do like driving with my seatbelt on, but who knows, switching it out while driving is probably better than those damn chimes. It's just so crazy.
You are the guy who also needs the automated cruise control too? Ironic that you have a platinum? naw

Anyways... the owners manual process is a good find but the OP says it doesn't work on the start up chimes which is really the problem here. I'm going to try the owners manual thing today and see what happens.

I agree with the other people about not wanting to use that adapter, it looks like the clip would be too high as well.

OK, your logic escapes me. I really don't give a rat's *** what others want to do or eliminate chimes. For one, the chime is not going off constantly - I find it rather subdued and not annoying. My point was the airbag deployment probably depends if the seat belt is secured and fooling it may not be best for a host of reasons.

I am the guy who needs cruise control? Actually I use it frequently and like the speed sensing feature. Your point?

And why is it ironic I have a Platinum?

Thank you SilverSurfer15. I believe it's ridiculous that you can Forscan or do the unbuckle buckle a thousand times trick to get it so it doesn't chime WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING, but heaven forbid you don't have you're belt on before that key goes in the ignition. I get it, I'm taking a chance on probably the cheapest piece of metal/plastic out there, but whatever. I didn't put the back up one in the passenger seat or anything. But seriously, how much you wanna bet that the OEM one is almost as cheap? Anyways, it's an option for people that cringe every time they put their key in the ignition and it works.

I don't know why, at a minimum, they don't wait 60 seconds after start up or shift out of P, whichever comes first. Or just disable it in Park all together.

You do know there is a procedure to deactivate the seatbelt chimes, right? Also, I believe Forscan can deactivate the chimes too.

Comprehension is hard to come by I guess, seriously, it takes maybe 30 secs to read the whole thread, if that.
