Default Faulty entry keypad

I have a '16 SCREW Sport and the keypad on the driver's side door broke a clip holding it in. Dealer says it is on backorder with no ETA and Ford customer service has been no help. I pushed for more info from the dealer and was told by one person that the part is being redesigned.

The dealer has no temporary fix and Ford has hardly aknowledged the problem. The keypad is almost falling out at all times and there isn't a good seal so water could get inside the door. I am not a huge fan of moisture around electronics. Does anybody have any information on this? I am pretty annoyed that there is no solution at all.

You could seal with some clear RTV silicone until the part gets redesigned. It would also hold in place for some time, and be easily removed with no damage to vehicle once the replacement clip comes in.

No reason to be or get annoyed.

Your truck is still under warranty and you said the dealer has ordered the part.

Just be patient.

Example......Plenty of people on here, including myself, have ordered and are waiting on the correct blue LED USB hub for the SYNC upgrade and the dealers really don`t have any idea when we`ll get them plus we had to pay for them so you`re in a better position that we are.

Eventually you`ll get the part that was ordered and it`ll be replace under warranty.

I would suggest you take a piece of clear packing tape and place it over the keypad.

It`ll still look like nothing it broken and no water will leak in.

Good luck to you.

No need to seal it, water POURS into the door every time it rains or you wash the truck. The key pad itself is sealed so no worries of that getting wet.

I will likely try silicone. I was more concerned that if I did some DIY work it could affect the warranty.
