Two of the screws used to attach the factory bedliner that came with my 2018 Lariat have fallen out completely and another two have pulled through the bedliner mounting holes as in picture. Servicing dealer is saying they are not the correct screws for the bedliner and that Ford warranty won't cover it so I will have to go back to selling dealership for the right hardware.
Are these "silver" screws in fact the wrong hardware for installing the tailgate bedliner? What does the right hardware look like? Judging by Amazon reviews it seems pretty common that the bedliner does not come with the right hardware and people just slap some fasteners together.
The dealer didn't use the correct fasteners. I agree with your servicing dealer, take it back to the selling dealer since it's their mistake. I would also make sure they get you replacement factory screws that fell out, they should have a bunch laying around. Or maybe they don't...
Fast forward to 0:50 of the video and see for yourself. This is on a Ford genuine bedliner made by Penda, which, I'm assuming yours is also.
Yup you have the wrong hardware. I bought an OEM tailgate protector like that one and mine came with different screws that have larger washers than the stock ones.
I'll snap a pic later if I get a chance.
Any company that sells and installs bedliners will have extra screws/bolts/leftovers from 100s of previous installs. If you drive by one, drop by and ask for some.
