Default Factory orders for '16 ending

Just talked to a dealer about my purchase. Sounds like sometime in the next week they will no longer accept new orders for factory builds.

I was at my dealer today and he told me to place my order by next Wednesday (July 13) in order to get a VIN# by the following Monday......something like that.

7/15/16 is the last day to order 2016 F150s. Order banks for 2017's open 7/18/16.

That means we can build a raptor finally?. Sure hope so. Ford loves to drag this raptor out. Its been a year and a half since we saw the supercab at the auto shows.

My brother is thinking about getting a 16 F150 later this year. He doesn't want the 17 models because he's not to excited about the 1st gen 10 speed tranny. Any idea how long the 16 models are available on the lots? I seem to remember when I bought my 16 in February there were still a lot of 15s around. I think lol. Honestly can't remember. Any ideas?

How long the outgoing MY last on lots all depend on sales, but yeah, you can typically find "last year's model" well into the next year. I bought my '15 in April this year. However, it is my understanding that not all '17s will have the 10-spd. It seems either just the Raptor, only higher trim level 3.5EBs, or just 3.5EBs will have it (don't know which, can't recall if it's been officially revealed what all will have it, but these seem to be the prevailing rumors). So depending on what drivetrain, trim level, and options your brother wants, he may still be fine with a '17 without getting a 10-spd.

Don't worry. There will be plenty of 16's on the lot well into the next year.

Anybody have a link to the order guide/book for the 2017's? I'd really like to see how the 2017's are going to be configured, for reals. We got to be getting close with the 2017 ordering window opening up.
