Factory Navigation Issues
Does anyone know why the navigation / Sync 3 system would forget the saved "Home/Work" address every time the truck goes through a restart cycle? It remembers recently searched for locations and the radio presets and all other settings remain as previously set. Weird quirk, asked about it in another thread but it is a little convoluted at this point so I posted a new thread for ease of asking. Thank you in advance for any and all help. Cheers
I have stopped trying to customize the Factory Nav system.
I find it cumbersome and not very user friendly.
Factory Nav systems are going the way of Satelite Radio...things of the past.
Neither system has kept up with the times and tech.
With Google Maps and Waze...I never use my Nav.

Did you save it? I saved mine for the first time after getting the new map version, since my street wasn't there before. I can check next time I use the truck to see if it's there. I expect it to be
. Otherwise, there wouldn't be the option to save it, no? If you have battery voltage issues, other stuff would be 'forgotten', and not just the home address. By the way, which version of Sync and maps do you have? I also updated Sync to the latest version, which I forgot what it was (Sorry. Maybe 19206?). Maps was 1.18; I remember that

.Software is up to date and I have 1.19 maps. Battery is brand new and one of the largest that is even feasible for our trucks. How would I know if I have voltage issues? I reset the BMS when I replaced the battery a month ago. It is a Northstar AGM group 27F 930CCA.
I’m thinking it’s the APIM or something battery related. I tried disconnecting the BMS at the negative terminal and going to sit overnight and see if that helps. Thoughts?
Just tried it for you, and my home address (I actually put the next intersection) is there, as expected. What I'd do in your case is to reset the APIM (a soft reset first), by pressing the audio on/off button and fast forward buttons at the same time until it resets (about 2 seconds). If still doesn't work, then you could try resetting it to factory specs from the settings. Finally, since you changed battery size, did you change that with FORScan? Your 930CCA battery is being charged as a 760 now, so that could be your issue. Hope this helps, brother. I honestly don't think it's an APIM issue with just that, to be honest. I had APIM issues once, and you just don't have nav, radio, or bluetooth. Or all 3, like it happened to me. The damn thing reset itself the next morning, and no issues since. I also updated Sync version and maps, as mentioned earlier. Hope that was the end of APIM issues for me
. Keep us posted. Good luck.

After a lot of back and forth with Ford, I got them to buy back my 2018 and give me a heavily discounted 2019 of nearly identical spec. Thank you for all of the help, I guess this has been unofficially solved!

Has to be more to the story for Ford to buy back over a Navigation system. Or did the dealer give you a "good" trade-in value?
This has been going on for weeks. Asking the forum was a last ditch effort and I have a good relationship with my dealer. It was more or less a “trade” rather than an official Ford buy back and lemon law. But it was, nonetheless, a buy back. Sorry for any confusion.
