Default F150led 5 zone ambient lighting kit

I think it's pretty crappy that ford didn't put lighting in the floor boards of the new 17 xlt I just purchased. I see the ambient kit through f150led that should take care of that issue. I would like the lights to come on when ever the doors at e open, or anytime all the dome lights come on. The way the instructions tell you is to tap into a fuse that turns them on all he time night and day when the key is in the ignition. I don't want them on all the time. Just whenever enter and exiting the vehicle at night or being able to turn them on if I drop something or passenger drops something in the floor board at night. Anybody have any incite on how to go about wiring this kit up like this??

I am thinking of grabbing this kit as well and wondering if anyone has any good reviews for it?

How is it pretty crappy? I wouldn't expect it in an xlt.

Every gm vehicle I've ever owned from a s10,Silverado, Yukon, suburban, grandprix, hhr, Malibu, alero, camaro, corvette. All have had some light in the floor boards to help you see at night if you drop something. I mean couldn't cost more than 15$ for ford to put 2 housings and 2 bulbs in the floor boards. Even though i bought a cheap model xlt according to some here it still had a sticker price of 49,000 msrp

Well, if you want them to come on whenever the doors open...
