F150 value is tanking
Has anyone else noticed lately that these trucks are becoming highly devalued? My loaded up 302A had a sticker price of 55,100 just a bit over 6 months ago and now it's only worth 25-30k with only 18k miles on it. It's not quite so bad for the King Ranch/Platinum guys, but still not good. For comparison similar model Chevys are pulling in 35-45k and Rams are pulling in 30-40k. I mean I understand you take a hit when you buy new, but to lose 50% of MSRP within 6 months is absolutely insane!

I have never seen an XLT actually sell for $55,000. No one pays MSRP.
MSRP means nothing. Surely you did not pay anything near $55K, right?
Any of us can buy a fully-loaded XLT crew cab 4x4 brand new right now off a dealer lot for $35K.
Why would you think you could get more than $30K for a used one with 18K miles of unknown severity on it?

First, without model year and details, no idea what truck you are trying to value.
Second, on an xlt in particular, the sticker price is much higher than the usual sale price. Not a great reference point.
Third, my 2016 supercrew 4x4 2.7 with most everything short of navigation and moonroof, is valued at 25-30k with 57 000 on it.
Not sure where the quoted values are coming from.

I didnt say I paid MSRP but the general rule of thumb is 20% loss of MSRP for year one followed by 10% every year after. The fact that people got good deals shouldn't reflect on the overall value of the truck. As for where its coming from, just pick your favorite auto listing website and see what they're going for or call your friendly neighborhood Ford dealership and ask what they would give you for trade if you really want a kick in the pants.
Mine is a 2019 XLT 302A 4x4 5.0 with every option except the sunroof.

MSRP is irrelevant since you didn't pay anywhere close to that.
F-150s do not hold their value as well as other trucks. It has been that way for several generations. Simply a supply and demand problem, there's a higher supply of used F-150s than there is a demand for them.
