The tremor kinda sucked. The 15 is lighter and better looking. No need for all those heavy options in a sport truck. 365 HP and 4200 or so lbs with some good handling suspension and wide tires would be fun on the street and probably run low 13's high 12's. I think it could be equal to or a bit quicker than the old lightning.

In it's current state of tune I agree, the 3.5 EB isn't enough, but I think Ford could improve some components and get it there. I just don't see Ford agreeing to the cost of putting an entirely different engine in 1 niche product. But I've been wrong before...

They're already working with a beautiful specimen in the SVT Raptor.

Give it some bigger wheels, get it low, change the gearing if you have to, and call it a day.

The 3.5 is not enough for a Lightning successor. You are a bit off on your time expectation. The Last lightning was 380HP and 450TQ, and ran mid-high 13's They weighed about 4600 pounds. With the larger tires sway bars , etc. needed to to become a proper sport truck, the new truck would weigh about 4400, even the the Eco. That translates to maybe high 13's, just like the 385HP 5.0 RCSB with 3.55/3.73 gears should be. The new Gen 2 Raptor 3.5 Eco might have enough stones, but real Lightning enthusiasts want a supercharged V8. As a Former Modded Lightning owner, I can say that no V6 would do for me.
