Default F150 eco diesel

Has anyone heard anything on the Ford F-150 Eco diesel that ford is wanting to come out with in 19 or 20?

A lot of speculation. Nothing is for sure yet. They also mix it in with the idea that there will be a few new models around the 2020 MY (car, SUV, and/or truck)

I wonder if they come out with the Eco diesel if it will get better fuel economy than the Eco boost

Possible, but they won't want to take away from the sales. Plus you have to remember all of the EPA bs that is mandated for diesel engines nowadays. That will keep some people away. The little diesel that's in the cargo vans isn't too bad, but I still see more gassers around the Wichita area than the diesel engine. There's also the question of if it will be a powerstroke or a 4 cycle diesel. I've seen a few articles about Ford testing both, but no answers as to what they are going into if anything.

I have heard from rumors that they are wanting to either put a 4cy or 6cyl in the f150. If that's true it would compete very well with the dodge 1500 Eco diesel

I would personally be looking for a 4cyl Diesel Ranger if they come back out with them. And I would think Ford would be smart enough to put a 6cyl in to appease the masses.

I agree 4cyl in ranger and 6cyl in f150. Nice combo

Yup. Only thing is I believe they have phased out all light duty manual transmissions. Which means less maintenance, but less fun as well. It will be an interesting next few years for Ford.

The new Cummins 5.0L V8 would be a nice addition. From what I understand it is an "open source" engine and not exclusive to Nissan.
