I'll wait till I read another review of 2 before I draw any conclusions. Motor Trend isn't quite a credible as it used to be. I thought it was said before that the diesel model wouldn't be available with HDPP and MAX TOW - so then how could it be rated with 11000+ lbs tow rating.

Eitherway I might drive one in 2020 when I might be in the market for a trade off. but I won't hold my breath.

I'm considering jumping to a SD instead. Can find a few really good deals on an F350 Platinum now. Once the dust settles I will decide then, but the new F150 diesel is a no.

Everyone complaining of power - How many people run a factory tune on a diesel truck? Most Ram, Colorado and Powerstroke owners I run into have a programmer on their trucks that really shake those numbers off. I imagine these are choked down pretty hard, to comply with strict EPA mandates. Drop the money on a tuner and I bet your closer to the 400+HP mark and double that in torque. Time will tell, but I am excited none the less to see the diesel market finally make its way to the smaller pickups.

Plus it'll be a while before a tuner is even released. And even longer to delete all the EPA nonsense... and deletes tend to run north of $1K.

Overpay and pay for a tuner? Diesel owners have been tuning brand new trucks from day one. Is has zero to do with "smoking anything" H&S, SCT typically have test trucks well before the market rolls out- we get it, diesel isn't your thing, but tuning on the diesel side is absolutely huge. While your tuning your eco or 5.0 and getting 1 mpg if your lucky, these guys tune diesels to get an extra 5-10mph consistently and double HP and torque reliably. Cry all you want- the broke dicks aren't the people buying these. Voiding warranty? I don't see many trucks come in the shop anymore married to a tuner, and if that's the case then good luck "voiding" any type of powertrain.

And any diesel owner knows that it is well worth it to do so. The large tuner companies are already working on tunes for these trucks.
