Default F150 Back in the Philippines

The Ford F150 has returned to the Philippine shores after over a decade of absence. It comes in two iterations, the 4X4 Platinum and the 4X2 Lariat. It is the 2020 model which look like both iterations come directly from Ford USA. I say this as the inverter outlets in the cabin output at 110V and not the local 220V in use in the Philippines and in almost all of Asia.

I did place an order for the Platinum in Star White color.

What are issues that I have to anticipate in at least the first year of use, and beyond?

No worries, the 110V outlets are practically useless as most battery chargers won't run due to the abysmal waveform. Buy a voltage inverter with a good sinewave and be happy. You can wire it into the 110v plugs if you want the look.

that is really cool that Filipinos can buy the F150... im of Filipino decent and have visited many times.... you'd be considered a high roller driving one around the crowded streets.... interesting that only the two trims are offered snd if you want 4wd, pony up for the Platinum!!... i believe only the 3.5EB is the only engine choice as well

if only you can get the F150 Raptor to drive along the sands of Boracay

Imagine Duterte patrolling the streets in a lifted F150 with 35s.....lol

Yes, both the Lariat and the 4x4 Platinum will be fitted the 3.5V Turbo Ecoboost. I am happy with the specs of the engine. My current truck is a 4X4 Nissan Navarra (Pathfinder internationally). It has a 2.5 L diesel engine that packs 180hp and 430nm of torque. But its small compared to the F150. I am excitedly awaiting its arrival.

I'm excited to see a new F150 Platinum chasing all other vehicles in Cebu when I'll be there in my next vacation. This generation F150 (2015-2020 MY) is awesome.

I have yet to have an issue with the 110v outlets, they've worked fine on everything I've plugged in to them. "most chargers won't run" - fake news.

Good to hear.

My son, his wife and my new grandson are trapped in the Philippines right now. I say trapped because they had intended to come back to visit by now but can't due to covid lock downs of course. He is working over there. He's in Pasig City. My other grandson was supposed to go over and visit for a month right after our schools got out but that also fell victim to covid travel woes.

Not really. Older, non-digital chargers work fine, most of the newer ones won't, they don't like dirty wave forms, and Ford's is the dirtiest I've ever seen, a two-step wave.
