Default Every Morning

2015 F150 XLT 5.0 Coyote with 55,000 miles. Garage parked. Ambient temp between 35 and 50 F.

Each morning, the first start up of my F150, the engine sputters and the starter runs longer than normal until she fires. Every start up after, throughout the day, no issues. Runs normal once started. This is the third day in a row. I suspect it's fuel related.

Any ideas?

Try this tomorrow morning. Turn the key on and wait a few seconds before starting it. It might be the pressure on the fuel rail is loosing pressure. If it is a push button start, I am not sure how to get the fuel pump to pressurize before it is turned to start.

Just a SWAG

It's an XLT so it's got a keyed ignition. Definitely seems strange, and I have to agree sounds like pressure bleeding back into the tank.

Just press the start button (twice if I remember) without your foot on the brake. It is the same as turning the key to the on position.

Another 5.0 issue. I think the 5.0 could be a great motor, but I suspect Ford builds 'trouble' into them on purpose to push people towards the EcoBoosts. CAFE standards and all.

Mine does the same thing, and seems worse when it's cold. Dealer replaced the fuel pump under warranty last year, but it did not make any difference. I have 90,000KM on the truck, but it has been like this since about 25,000KM.
