Hi there. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this intermittent concern on my end.

my truck is currently at the dealer and I was told that this is not something they’ve heard about before although a quick google search reveals that is definitely not the case.

In your description is something that can lead to a false assumption.
Think closely about this.
If the engine shuts down due to a loss of electrical power, while moving >>>>>> then power returns from vibration or other, the auto stop start is [reset] by default as a new normal function request and shows up on the screen>>after the fact, while still moving.
Same thing as turning off the Ignition and doing an Ignition On cycle to restart the engine.
It certainly appears the truck is losing basic power intermittently from a faulty fuse, or fuse seating, or relay, or a Distribution fault.
I can't see it being anything else.
The old trucks that had the PATS system did the same thing, reset the PATS because power was lost, or engine stopped. Many assumed it was a PATS system issue, when it was not. Once the engine is running, PATS had no more to do with the engine stopping.
.
If it were me, I have a Scanner and would plug it up to see live data full time and watch the display for the signs of electrical power loss. The Scanner would display Connection Lost, as the basic hint of what happened.
Good luck.

This exact thing happened to us this past Saturday. We bought a brand new 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat on Black Friday. It was raining Saturday night when it happened. The engine would totally shut off while we were driving about 20-30 mph. It was a very scary situation and would have been much worse if we were going faster.

Today, the dealer called us and said they think the issue was due to a leak and water was getting on the main control (basically the computer). Will keep you all updated if they are able to 100% fix the issue.

Hello there! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I'd be happy to look into things on my end.

Guys, sorry I did not post the resolution to my engine shutting down issue.I believe I did in another thread but here’s what happened. One of the Ford Reps reached out to me and she arranged for a visit to the dealership and kept in contact with me throughout the process. It turned out to be a faulty battery. It was replaced and has worked well so far.My thanks to the Ford Rep for her help.It is most appreciated

Thanks for feedback on your issue. One quick question for everyone monitoring this thread, Doesn't the alternator provide vehicle power when "my engine shuts itself off while driving.", not the battery?
