I've got an intermittent issue where my engine shuts itself off while driving.Needless to say this is quite a scary event.I get an alert on my DIC which says...."Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine".Sounds simple enough but when cars are flying by, and you've stalled, it's unnerving to say the least.Anyone experience this or have any knowledge as to what can be causing this?

I had this problem on a 2018 with the 5.0L engine, I disabled the auto start/stop and it never happened again.

Not in my case.I have a '20 with 2.7 motor

Had same issue 2017 escape. Turned off auto start stop.

Turning off auto start/stop just turns off the feature.It doesn't stop the engine from shutting down driving down the road

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago... I was on a side road waiting to pass a tractor going about 5mph. I turned the auto start/stop off through the advanced settings, but it still happened.

Is this a Forscan fix only?

Guys,so maybe I'm not explaining myself quite well here so I apologize.My issue is driving down the road and my engine shuts off.I'm not talking about the engine shutting down at a stop light.Also,I always turn my start/stop off as soon as I start my truck.The alert I get on my instrument panel references the auto start/stop but I really can't understand why that would shut my engine down at 25mph

I understood you from your original statement. That is very concerning. I would like to know the cause myself should you find out. I wish I could give you the answer.

Disable it in some other way other than the button on the dash and see if it corrects itself. I unplugged the smallest plug under the dash in the white box by the brake pedal, others have disabled it by removing a wire at the battery for the BMS. If you unplug the wire under the dash you will not have proper trailer lighting until it is plugged back in. I had the very same problem as you until I disabled it and it never returned.
