Default Engine Oil Temp

It seems like every other thread on here is about lift/level or "LEDs". Instead of bombarding this place with more threads, I tried asking my question in other existing threads and also searching, to no avail.

Does the 2015 F150 5.0 monitor engine oil temperature?

To answer your question NO.

It monitors oil pressure with the leftmost gauge on your speedo.
Engine coolant temp is also displayed.

If you check ultragauge website, I believe their gauges have that capability

Thanks, lol I know my cluster shows oil pressure and coolant and tans temp.
I want to monitor more than what my cluster shows, like oil temp and and everything in actual numbers not dummy gauges like my cluster has.

Does my truck monitor oil temp?

Is the oil pressure gauge I'm my truck simply just an on/off switch, or does it read actual temperature?

I have a feeling that deep down in the ECU it probably monitors oil temp and oil level, but I don't believe those parameters are displayed for the driver.

I run an ultraguage, an aftermarket guage that monitors 70+ parameters , I don't believe it monitors oil temp.

Thanks everyone for their reply. I have a ScanGauge and that's why I was asking about oil temp. I contacted SG and they don't have x gauge command for oil temp for my truck.

I'm curious if anyone with IDS can provide an entire list of parameters they can see with it connected to our trucks, especially the 5.0L.....

The oil pressure gauge is connected to a switch. You don't need to know the oil pressure.

Try contacting the support center for the Torque App (uses Bluetooth OBII reader and your phone).

I'd be very surprised if oil temp isn't on the bus. However the previous comment about oil level is untrue.

Yes, in order to get it you need some one on the inside to leak the info.

No, the truck has no oil temp sensor...therefore no oil temperature.

Ford can infer what the oil temp is based on coolant temperature, if needed for the protection of the motor.

Oil temp would need to be >275 for any damage to occur, meaning the coolant would be at the point of blowing the cap off the reservoir. Therefore no need to monitor oil temperature.

Does it make it right, no. I own a Ford Diesel and monitor oil temp all the time. Guess Ford is selling to two completely different demographics...

It can, I have a 2016 and briefly saw an oil temperature when I was going through my settings. ( It was displayed on the instrument panel). But I cannot find it again and I’ve tried.
