Default Engine Hours and Engine Idle Hours

So on “Engine Hours”…….does “Engine Hours” include “Engine Idle Hours” or are they separate and need to be added together? So do I have 4,041 total engine hours or 4,714?

The idle hours are part of the total hours.

Exactly. Engine hours is total engine run time.

What exactly IS an "idle hour"...what kicks it into this mode? Not in gear, perhaps? Not moving?

It's pretty standard that idle hours are calculated as any time an engine is running but the vehicle or implement is not under power or moving. Implements with PTO's that are used while the implement is not moving will also break out PTO hours. I'd expect Ford to be calculating idle hours as any time the engine is running but the vehicle is not moving, whether or not the vehicle is park, neutral, or a gear.
