I just get paranoid that the V6 will explode when towing heavy stuff. That and having to cool down the turbos after a long haul/trip or add a turbo timer.

Popping the hood of my truck makes me feel lacking even with the 5.0 motor. The bay is just so cavernous. When I saw the 3.5EB and the penthouse apartment bay it lived in with it's 20ft high ceiling I said to myself I think... yeah a V8 lol

But looking at my V8 it still has an 18ft high ceiling lol

At least with the 2.7L you don't have to cool down the turbo's. They are liquid cooled and continue to cool after shut down.

There are just as many complaints of 5.0's having problems as 3.5 EB's, but there doesn't seem to be many complaints of either engine with a short life expectancy.

Everyone's fears of the EB prematurely "blowing up" seems to be way blown out of proportion. (Pun intended).

I didn't like the Ecoboost when them first came out but now that they have worked the glitches out of it I like it just fine. Especially the fuel mileage.

So you are saying that a forced induction motor will have the same life expectancy as NA?

I would say so myself as long as drivers kept everything within factory specifications. I do think the so called Ecoboost Torture Test that Ford did was a bit exaggerated naturally for marketing purposes but I would almost bet that the engine they did that test with wasn't good for much when they got through with it.

I went with the 2.7 and love it! 3L/100 km better than the 3.5 in my 2011. It is faster than I need it to be and fun to drive.

Well, until there is some PROOF otherwise...
