Default Engine Cover Off

Any issues taking the engine cover off the 3.5 ecoboost and running it without one? I noticed that where my JLT oil catch can sits the engine cover rubs against the hoses and it's only a matter of time when the cover cuts through the rubber hose and causes a leak

Thanks gents

Should not be any issues. Newer vehicles such as the Bronco don`t even come with covers anymore. "I" would just trim the cover to fit the hose.

I pulled my engine cover more than a year ago. No issues.

Can't say about the 3.5 but simply removing the cover on my 2.7 dropped IAT2 several degrees, and I assume the manifold is now running cooler also. It has been off for 3 years now. KM

Is a catch can worth it on a '20 3.5 EB?

Both sides? One side only?

Only you can answer that question for yourself. It's not worth it to me on my 2015 3.5 DI-only Ecoboost. I have read or heard of exactly ZERO with valve coking that caused any real world problems, which tells me any coking that happens is not significant. If there were any real issues it would be all over the Internet, like it was for the European and Japanese manufacturers who had real, significant DI-related valve coking. Your 20 has dual injection so it's of even less concern.
