You're getting into semi truck weights here...

(where does it end? how far will it go? how much weight is really the max? stayed tuned for another episode of Holy F**k Overloaded Truck!)
20,000lbs... I live in 'Murica by-Gawd and we don't use that fancy metric stuff 'round here.

As a fact Ford removed the V10 from the E350 (2003?) for no other reason than to reduce the capacity for the reason I've stated. They've learned their lesson. Todays F150 can most assuredly handle more payload than it could 10-20 years a go, hence the more powerful engines. Argue all you want. I'm telling you facts having dealt with this very issue. Every time they've added a more powerful engine they have increased it's payload and towing #'s.

But of course the engine will handle more weight so the consumer loads it up and then we get the threads telling people how they should have bought a SD....

Tried to provide some (known facts) insight. Ya'll enjoy yourselves.
Hmmm
My 17 got 10hp and 50lbft over my 15 and did not get a tow or payload bump...

Good point. My comment comes from driving a 2012 3.5EB where I was tempted to stomp on it, trans would drop to a lower gear and the higher rpms made the turbos do their thing. I use my current F150 5.0L almost strictly for towing on long drives at highway speeds. At 60 to 65 mph where I'm comfortable towing my trailer (Micro-Lite 19fd), this truck is loping along at 1600 - 1800rpms in 6th until I use tow/haul mode on the hills. The 5.0L seems right at home for what I'm using it for.

I have a 2015 2.7L 136K miles on it and the only problem was a failed crank case pressure sensor. It's a tough little mill!

Correct! Mazda manufactured these trucks, (the original Courier) not Ford. And if todays F150 was as tough as that old Courier it would last twice as long.
