Default Emergency Brake Errors

2019 Ford F150 FX4 - changed rear brakes and rotors and then took for a test drive around the block. Received 2 different errors. One was "Parking Brake Malfunction" and "Parking Brake Overheated". Nothing was done to the emergency brake so not sure why these errors are showing since nothing was done to the EB. I was able to clear the code but I'm afraid if I engage the electronic EB again the error will return. Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? Any ideas why changing brakes would cause the issue in the first place?

Did you enable parking brake maintenance mode?

1 was the EPB put into maintenance made prior to starting to work on the rear brakes?
2. Was as EBP recalibration performed after service completed?

yes, maintenance mode was enabled. No, is a calibration required when rear brakes are changed? I wasn't aware of this step.

Must be done by Scan Tool or Forscan. After replacing brake shoes it resets the computer to recognize the change in brake pad thickness (according to AI)

not really. The passenger rear emergency brake actuator was full of water when I took it off. I replaced the actuator. Put the accuator on and put it all back together and was getting the same codes. (misaligned). So it was suggested to push the piston back in on the caliper and let it reset its self for the positioning. Since I wasnt able to get it to go into brake service mode, I had to manually wind the piston back. I was able to get it go back but the boot was ripped so I went ahead and replaced the whole caliper was well. Got it all back together. Drove it around the block. All the lights were off and seemed to be fine so I pushed my luck and attemped to put on the emergency brake. Once I did that. the same brake lights came back on saying it was misaligned and brake system failure. I found a work around and went into ForScan and turned off the emergency brake completely. Since then, I've had no issues but I also don't have an emergency brake.

The Code set is needed to read the full fault description.
Dash Screen display is not the code, only an alert there is a fault, not what the fault is bryond the base function.
Good luck.
