Default electrical problem

hi guys

i have a 2015 xlt 3.5 ecoboost with about 18k on it
about a month ago i was at work and my truck was dead. went to get the jumper cables and my buddy says hold on make sure its completely in park. his old truck would do that so he jumped in and pushed the shifter up and the truck fired up
two weeks ago im driving down the road and step on the gas a bit and all the interior lights except the head unit and gauges turn off then come back on after a few seconds. caught me by surprise but that was the only time i noticed it
tonight i went to leave work and the truck was dead again tried pushing it into park like before but to no avail put it on a jumper box and it started right up while driving home when i would step on the gas all the lights would turn off in the truck except the head unit and gauges. at one point the head unit had a message saying turning off to save battery my headlights went out on one particular time as well and i had to twist the **** to off and back on to auto for them to turn back on
when the interior lights were off i could hear a slight screeching noise like wind over a rough surface but when the lights came back on the noise was gone

has anyone had this issue before? any insight as to what it could be?

i took a couple of videos but it looks like they are too large

Not an electrical expert, but I would get the battery tested first thing. You may have a bad cell.

Do you have a Youtube account? Post your video there and link it back here.

Good luck.

Sounds like it's time for a new battery. Also I doubt your friend pushing on the shift lever had anything to do with it, it was just a coincidence. Sometimes when a battery is weak or dead and you try to start and it doesn't you let it sit a few minutes and it will go. If it wasn't in park it would have told you when you went to shut the truck off last time you drove it.

Are you sure that screeching noise could be a the alternator belt or bearing?

i thought it could be belt, but it wasnt acting like a bad alternator. bad alternator dims the lights until its dead, this would just black out then come back on. its still under warranty but i want to try and get some knowledge before i head in there and they cant reproduce it.

Very similar to how my 96 Honda Civic (in 96 when it was a month or so old) and 2013 Acura (also when it was new--both Honda, I know) acted with a bad battery. Acura battery had to be replaced twice for same reason. On the Acura forum, everyone says get an aftermarket battery the minute you surpass the warranty.

At least hold the phone/camera way over to the right so it doesn't look like you're breaking the cell phone law.
