E locker question
Okay so start w/ 2x4 (rear only) if unsuccessful then add e-lockers, if unsuccessful engage 4hi? I just got done reading the 'why do I even need 4x4' thread and it appears most folks w/ 2x4 buys the e-lockers over 4x4 option. My dealer walked me through the options and told me that the e-lockers are for folks that just want's to burn out and show off lol.

4X4 first, then the ELD if all hope is lost. I'd prefer an LSD, but that wasn't available. With the ELD locked, you "may" find steering is affected, ie. doesn't want to turn, or takes longer to turn, can use the front tires to plow, on ice/snow/mud.
Also, a locked axle likes to slide you sideways on a start in mud/ice/snow.
Use wisely, play with it before you need it, learn it's habits.
Yes, mine kicks off at about 25 mph, and reengages about 20 mph.
And the salesman is an azzhat, the ELD can be useful.

Not only that but learn how your truck responds and behaves in different settings, modes, etc. Every winter I "play" around in the snow to see how the truck reacts to slides, hard braking, swerves etc. Not only is it fun, but I am confident in knowing how the truck behaves in adverse weather.
Have the 3.73 ELocker on my 2017, yes it disconnects at 25 mph or so, will re-engage as you slow below that. The dash indicators display such also. I believe the traction control will also be disabled when on. Mine locks promptly and locks completely, you will notice the rear skipping on slight turns.
"Use wisely, play with it before you need it, learn it's habits." excellent advise. Especially with the "Sport" mode, tons of fun on dry pavement, scary in slippery conditions. The result of quickened throttle response and disconnected traction control. KM

Hi, What I am looking for is a proper LSD for the 8.8" rear diff on my '16 XLT. It needs to be 34 spline. Any suggestions please? My stock diff is open, not the ELocker

As am I, I have an E-locker and want a traditional limited slip, as mine is RWD, and I don't want to have to turn it on/off.
